Speak to Search Engines On Your Mobile:
Bear with us we are not going mad here.
Yahoo have teamed up with a company called Vlingo (a speech recognition systems maker) and have created a voice enabled version of Yahoo oneSearch.
What this means, is that in the near future you will be able to search the internet directly on your mobile phone, using voice commands.
Currently the technology is not available over here in the UK, and probably won't be available for several months (correct as of May 2008).
The system and technology is currently available on selected devices, such as the Blackberry Pearl over in the USA.
Again at the time of writing this and uploading, no other international dates have been set, so currently only available in the USA. However this is very exciting news and we certainly hope it appears over here very soon.
Along the same kind of lines, there have also been some other new features to Yahoo's mobile search platform, including a push to provide more relevant information for searchers using semantic technology.
This will enable you to make more specific searches and obtain information that is more relevant to your own needs, rather than just a list of websites that contain the right keywords.
